  • Release Schedule
    The United States Mint releases the Presidential Dollars at a rate of four different designs per year. The first coins honoring George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison were released in 2007.
  • Mintages
    The Presidential Dollars are struck in circulating quality at the Philadelphia and Denver Mint facilities. For the first five years of the series, these coins were distributed to the channels of circulation through the Federal Reserve Banks. From 2012 onwards, distribution for circulation was halted and the coins were only sold at a premium to face value within numismatic products.

    Collectors of Presidential Dollar Rolls will encounter some different styles of packaging based on the era and origin of the coins. Under the authorizing legislation, the Federal Reserve Banks are required to order sufficient quantities of each roll to make them available for commerce.
